What is Zurich in a Day?
Zurich in a Day is First Tee – Greater New Orleans’ signature golf marathon fundraiser, benefiting local First Tee participants. Inspired by the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and our longtime partner, Fore!Kids Foundation, golfers take on the challenge of playing all 72 holes of the tournament in a single day at English Turn Golf & Country Club while raising pledges to support First Tee’s golf-based youth development programs.
How Does it Work?
Golfers raise money by receiving pledges from their friends, family, coworkers, and supporters before the event. Pledges can be made as a flat donation or based on the golfer’s performance, such as the number of birdies, pars, eagles, or even a hole-in-one!
On event day, golfers take on the challenge of playing all 72 holes (36 holes of best ball followed by 36 holes of alternate shot) in a single day. After the round, performance-based pledges are calculated and added to any flat donations to determine each golfer’s total fundraising impact.
Example: If a supporter pledges $25 for every eagle and a golfer makes 3 eagles during their 72-hole marathon, that pledge becomes a $75 donation to First Tee – Greater New Orleans.
Fundraising Information
Each team is asked to raise a minimum of $2,000 to support First Tee – Greater New Orleans. Don’t worry, we’ll help you every step of the way! We’ll provide fundraising tips, best practices, and other resources to help you reach and exceed your goal.
Once you’re registered, you’ll receive your own personalized fundraising page to share with friends, family, coworkers, and supporters. They can make a flat donation or pledge based on your performance, and we take care of collecting the donations for you, so you can focus on playing golf and having fun!
